Type Hike: ARCH
Type Hike is a collaborative non-profit design project created by David Rygiol and James Walker that celebrates and supports the outdoors through typography. The project began in 2016 with a series of 60 designs celebrating the National Park Service centennial anniversary. 100% of the profits from design sales were donated to the National Park Foundation. Type Hike supports a variety of organizations including Defenders of Wildlife, Space Camp, and most recently The Gateway Arch Park Foundation.
On the 1-year anniversary of the Gateway Arch becoming the 60th National Park, Type Hike held a celebratory exhibit featuring 60 posters from 60 designers. Proceeds from the exhibition were donated to The Gateway Arch Park Foundation and the top 10 designs were displayed at the entrance to the Arch. This design was selected as one of the 10.
